In my opinion, engaging with nature is a vital part of growing up healthy and happy.

Discover What’s Around You
You might be surprised at the hidden gems located right in your own backyard. Take some time to research local parks, forests, or nature reserves.
Many areas have easily accessible spots that are perfect for family outings and not too far from “civilization”! For example, my local nature park has a beautiful cafe next to a lake where families come to cycle, roller skate, walk their dogs, and test-drive their little remote controlled toy boats.
Join Community Events
Many communities hold events like guided nature walks, outdoor festivals, or clean-up days.
Participating in these events can be a wonderful way for you and your children to connect with nature while also engaging with your community.
3. Make it a Game
Gamify Outdoor Activities
Children naturally love to play, so why not turn outdoor time into a game?
You can create simple scavenger hunts with items to find in your local park, or invent a nature bingo that includes spotting different types of birds, insects, and plants.
Encourage Healthy Competition
If you have more than one child, a bit of friendly competition can spice up the outdoor experience.
Who can spot the most types of trees?
Who can collect the most acorns?
Games like these can motivate children to pay closer attention to their natural surroundings and actively participate during your family outings.

Children are often more enthusiastic about activities when their friends are involved.
Consider organizing a group outing with your child’s friends and their families.

By making it a regular part of their routine, children start to associate the outdoors with fun and friendship.
